on the First Anniversary of the Bambino Gesù Association of Cairo onlus
at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Italy

The Ambassador began his speech by expressing his joy at welcoming the celebration of the First Anniversary of the Bambino Gesù Association of Cairo and thanking the distinguished guests for their participation.
He says: “here we are together again, gathered around the values of brotherhood and solidarity. A year ago we were honored to host the inauguration of the Bambino Gesù Association of Cairo and we are again honored and happy to celebrate its first anniversary with you in this house that bears the name of Dr. Durante. I don't think this concurrence is a coincidence. The famous surgeon Dr. Durante was the first in the world to have operated on a brain tumor, in 1884 in Rome (he was Promoter and founder, together with Dr. Guido Baccelli, of the "Umberto I" Polyclinic in Rome, where he directed the surgical clinic for almost 40 years. chaired the Italian Society of Surgery). We remember today, after more than a century, the works of this doctor to affirm that the good lives on and never perishes ...
The humanitarian initiatives carried out by the United Arab Emirates know no borders as has been shown during this Pandemic, where the UAE has pledged to bring relief and aid to numerous nations and populations… initiatives also in collaboration with the Vatican, concretizing the values of the Document on Human Fraternity … we are proud of the UAE's efforts in the humanitarian leader. The efforts that have placed the UAE among the first countries in this field, in collaboration with the nations, with the Associations and with the Humanitarian Foundations and with all our friends of "white" hands and hearts, like you, in the certainty that saving even a single human life is among the highest and most appreciated actions ...
Best wishes for this first anniversary of the Bambino Gesù Association of Cairo. The Association that seeks to offer the necessary aid to those in need, especially pregnant women and infirm or abandoned or orphaned children or those belonging to poor families ... both through the "Bambino Gesù Women's and Children's Hospital" that will be a model pediatric hospital infrastructure to ensure reception and medical-health care for children with pathologies and pregnant women throughout their gestational process. Both through the "Oasi della Pietà" orphanage which will be a shelter to support the growth of young guests in a family environment, where they will be able to receive education, training, care and attention.
We are proud that these projects are the fruit of the Human Fraternity Document, signed by His Holiness Pope Francis and the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmaed Al-Taib, on February 4, 2019 in Abu Dhabi. These are projects that aim to create generations open to brotherhood and to the values of coexistence, tolerance, pluralism and peace ...
